NAEYC Accreditation

The National Association for the Education of Young Children
(N.A.E.Y.C.)

St. Basil Preschool has been nationally accredited since 2001

WHY NAEYC ACCREDITATION?

With learning there is growth. It is that simple!

We have been blessed with a wonderful program, dynamic parents, inquisitive kids, and an excellent staff that works well together. We respect the individuality of each person involved in making this program what it is today. It would be very easy to sit back and let things run themselves. But as early childhood professionals there is always room for more growth and more learning. Our jobs are never done. If there are no challenges or learning opportunities for us as teachers then we are not striving to provide the best possible environment for the children.

St. Basil Preschool is the only private, faith based center currently in Stockton to hold such a distinguished honor. NAEYC accreditation is the highest “award” that is bestowed in the early childhood education field.

The process is extremely timely. Some programs have taken up to eighteen months to two years to complete. There are ten vital components that must be studied before the final assessments are made:

Relationships
Curriculum
Teaching
Assessments
Health & Safety
Teaching Staff
Families
Communications
Physical Environment
Program Management

St. Basil Preschool was first granted accreditation in 2001.

Our program was one of 60 programs that pioneered through the
new N.A.E.Y.C. accreditation standards adopted in 2006.

N.A.E.Y.C. accreditation is granted for five years with reports submitted annually. We have been continuously accredited since 2001. We just passed our recent accreditation renewal visit in September 2022. Our next accreditation renewal is in 2027.
